Electric: Residential Service

The neutral cable is grounded to earth on one end and connected to the neutral at the transformer on the other (Figure 89). Inside the residence, both streams of electricity give the owner 240-volt service. One stream of electricity will give the customer 120-volt service (Figure 90).
